“Okay, okay. How about this― You must be tired because you've been running through my head all night.”

“That was so bad.” Kuroo says, followed by a snort. You roared in laughter, tears nearly coming out from you eye but quickly blinked them away. The both of you continued to laugh until one's stomach started from laughing too hard. Eventually, the both of you ceased from laughing and rested for a few minutes, the smile still glued on your faces as you thought about the dreadful pick-up line. Kuroo closed his eyes and began thinking of another godawful pick-up line, and it didn't take him long to come up with one. He shots his eyes open and turns to look at you. “Alright. I think I got one. And it's really bad. You ready?”

“So ready.”

“Great legs. What time do they open?”

“That was the worst one yet! Oh my god.”

Some say that snorting while laughing was a really, really, embarrassing and an ugly scene to watch, but all those words meant absolutely nothing to you, and you laughed and laughed as you clutched your stomach. Kuroo laughed along with you, covering his mouth with the back of his hand. It took a really long time for you to stop laughing, and once you finally did, you looked at your best friend with glittering [e/c] eyes, shining ever so brightly and radiantly. “I really like this.” You murmured underneath your breath. Kuroo only hummed in agreement. “We should have this more often. Have sex and say stupid pick-up lines. We don't have to do the whole ‘Oops, I gotta go.’ ordeal once we're done having sex. Let's stay for a bit and play around. It's more fun that way.”

“You really are something, aren't you?” He says, looking down at you. “Are you sure... you're alright with... this?”

“This? You mean the ‘Friends with Benefits’ thing?” Kuroo hesitantly nods his head. “I mean, yeah. Sure. Of course I am. Otherwise we wouldn't have done it on the first place. To be quite honest, I thought that it wouldn't work out because, you know, we were just so filled with problems and stress and decided to take it out on each other by having sex. But I was wrong. We're working out. We're happy. We're not breaking down. Not yet, at least.” You nudged his rib gently. “Why? You don't like it? We can stop, you know. You just have to tell me. I'll understand.”

“No, it's not that. It's just―” He brushes his messy black hair with his fingers and sighs. “It's just a little bit weird, you know? People always say that having sex with your friend is wrong and all that. But, like, we're doing it. And we don't have a problem with it. You're happy, I'm happy, we're happy. There's nothing wrong with us and I feel completely relieved and relaxed after we do it. And you're nice and decide to stay with me for a while and talk to me and then go. It's not like one those one night stands in which you just wake up to find them gone already. It's not like that.”

“So?” You arched an eyebrow at him. “What's the problem?”

He stares at you blankly. “Nothing, I guess.”

“Exactly. There's no problem. So, you shouldn't worry about things like unless we actually have a problem with it. And as far as I can tell, things are going pretty well with us. Life's happy. The sun is shining and birds are chirping. Just.. I don't know, stop giving yourself so much stress and try to enjoy what life has to offer, alright? Worry about the future later. That's what my Grandmother used to say.”

Kuroo didn't say anything right after that. You were right. You were definitely right. There wasn't a single problem between the two of you, and he shouldn't worry about things like that. The fates were, surprisingly, being nice to him and decided that he would have a happy life for God only knows how long. But right now, he's just going to enjoy and appreciate it. Kuroo breathed in and breathed out, sucking out the fresh air. You snorted from beside him, and he turns his head to look at you again. You were smirking smugly at him.

“Nice Pikachu boxers, by the way. Really cute.”

“Thanks. I do try.”}
